In just 7 weeks, James Cameron’s 3D movie “Avatar” has surpassed Titanic to become the highest grossing film of all time with over $2 billion in sales.  What most analysts have missed out is how, so far, Avatar may have crushed the record-books, if kept, for becoming the single film that has been seen at least twice, in such a short time, by the largest percentage of audiences in the history of moviegoing. Mission3D Responds to Challenge Aired on CNN…

…and Proves the Usefulness of 3D Photography!

The above CNN Headline News | Hotwired special report first aired back when Mission3D first introduced their 3D Digital Camera Kit, the first in the world.

I still remember being informed by our then PR agency PerkettPR that the folks at CNN really liked our product and that they will air a report on Hotwired about it.  We were coming off another great favorable review by Time Magazine who had earlier awarded our Photo3D Kit, Time Magazine Gadget of the Week. Click here to learn more about the kit.

I remember sitting across from the TV and waiting for the report to air in the USA market, I had my VCR ready to record the review.  Then with total excitement we began to watch it.  The report was really favorable and fun, but along the way when the Photo3-D Kit image was being broadcasted, Mr. Brian Cooley, Editor at Large at CNET.com, makes the following statement:  “…and even though 3D Photography is still basically a fun gimmick, there is no purpose to it, it’s kind of fun…” (more…)

Why the 3D Super Bowl Ads Were a Total Disappointment to You

dissapointed-watching-3d-super-bowl-ads-3d-glasses-color-code-3d-monsters-vs-aliens

Why was the Super Bowl XLIII 3D extravaganza both a major success and a big failure?  Who’s to blame?

If you watched the super bowl and enjoyed the 3D effects of PepsiCo’s Sobe Lifewater and Dreamworks’ Monsters vs. Aliens commercials created using InTRU 3D, you are probably lucky.  But for the rest of us,  it felt like Dreamworks and their 3D execution consultants pulled a stunt and the audience took the bait. Are they to be blamed? Sam Ramadan believes they are partly culpable. (more…)

Why is stereo 3D not ready for broadcast TV? - Mission3D explains

42-15475232

The big hype this year was the Super Bowl 3D commercials with the biggest disappointment coming after most everyone put on those also much-hyped 3D glasses and saw little or no 3D effects.

Everyone needs to know that Dreamworks’ Monsters vs. Aliens promises to be a big hit on the big screen, and Sam Ramadan believes it will be, because unlike the Super Bowl commercial which was broadcast in anaglyph stereo YB vision (the producers call it Color-Code 3D), the actual film will be shown in theaters in Real 3D and IMAX 3D, which offer a 3D-controlled viewing environment and use stereo polarized 3D glasses that are unisex (independent of feminine or masculine vision) (more…)

lose-weight-with-3d-photo

Loosing that extra weight is now as easy as 1, 2, 3D

No, this is not Liposuction or any other form of quick-fix magic weight-loss surgery.  This instant loss of weight can occur when you capture moments of your life and the choice is all yours.

The solution we are proposing works with people that are either moderately overweight or obese, but if a person is thin and has an unwanted belly, this solution is likely to accentuate the presence of this belly. (more…)

Why Mission3D Manufactures “Best Paper 3D Glasses In the World”?

custom-3d-glasses

Back in August of 2002, when I first decided to invent the Photo3D kit and bring the joy of 3D photography into everyone’s home, I began looking for the best Anaglyph 3D glasses in the world to include with the kit.  I ended up buying so many different models from just about every manufacturer in the USA, Europe and the Far East.  But nothing satisfied my appetite for a high quality viewing experience; by far, the majorities, if not all of the products, provided inferior lenses, not to mention Geeky looking.

The History of 3D Photography - Newly Updated

Thursday, January 22nd, 2009

abraham-lincoln-3d2

Believe it or not, 3D photography has existed for over 150 years.

In 1838 Professor Charles Wheatstone established that humans perceive depth when the brain combines two slightly different images. Each eye, separated by about two and a half inches, sees things with a slightly different aspect. This discrepancy, Wheatstone believed, allows us to see the world in three dimensions. (more…)

sittingorderinclass1

If you ask the following question: Where do the best students sit inside a classroom? 9 out of 10 are likely to respond “in the front”.  If you ask: why? The likely response is “to pay more attention” with only a few saying: “to be noticed by the teacher”. (more…)
