Thank you so much for your kind comment Mr. Anthony

At some point during my research, I thought there was a potential relationship with Anaglyphs and motion sickness, then I realized that some people who don't have motion sickness did not have headaches and visa versa, so this made it inconclusive. But when gender mismatch occurs with people and 3D glasses and they try to peak and put the glasses on and off repeatedly, they increase the likelihood of a headache, in most cases if you ask them to flip the glasses and count form 1-10, their vision resets and the headaches are gone or reduced substantially.

I would love to test and review some of the products you make if you would be kind to send me samples, ofcourse, I will return them once I am done.

Regards, - Sam Ramadan

Hello there, I have been Modeling and Animating 3D (CGI) and developing hardware/software solutions for the future of 3D entertainment, Virtual Reality, since 93. I really enjoyed your article and applaud your findings. I work with H.M.D. (Head Mounted Display) technology usually referred to as "VR Goggles" or "A VR Helmet". Within these technologies there are numerous problems to overcome. One of these problems happens to be the side affects you have just described. In a Stereoscopic 3D HMD the user is exposed to 2 different angles of the real time 3D, or video, for right and left eye. The content is rendered with this in mind, projecting alternate frames for the right and left eye accordingly. When this hardware is used on certain subjects, some of them have the same trouble seeing the Stereoscopic material presented to them, they also share the headaches and occasionally, (Although I believe this to be related to motion and the inner ear), extreme motion sickness and disorientation that can take upwards of 20 minutes for a subject to overcome.
Anyway, just thought I would drop you a post and let you know that your research applies to H.M.D. technology as well. By the way I did your test to see which I am….” Stereo-Feminine or Stereo-Masculine Vision” and I am most certainly “Stereo-Feminine” which is pretty funny since I’m a man who works in technology which tends to be analytical (Right Brain) …But I also happen to be an Artist which tend to be Left Brain :P Best of luck on your findings ! I hope you get the recognition you deserve for it.:)
Best Regards

Dear Charles,

This is true, you would have to retouch the left image then the right image separately. To speedup the process within Photo3-D Mixer Software, once you mix and save the portrait image, select to save focused right and left separately, and keep the focus on the nose of the subject that was photographed.

This will ensure high potential for precision and repeat on facial retouching to be in very very close proximity. Then use the ACTION RECORD within Photoshop and once you record the edits for the first image you may very well then replay the recorded action on the second image of the stereo pair.

If the angle of view is too large, you may not be able to record things like removals of beauty marks and such.

Thank you for your kind remark.

- Sam.

In light of this subject, it might also be useful to note the extreme difficulty of retouching 3D stereo pairs. You can't just use the regular Photoshop tricks to smooth out wrinkles and blemishes. You have to make the retouches work in stereo, a much more difficult proposition.
